As the Brooklyn Nets celebrate six decades, new Classic Edition uniforms and court honor the franchise’s ABA roots and evolution into Brooklyn, alongside new and enhanced fan experiences spanning hospitality, food and beverage, technology and entertainment at Barclays Center
BROOKLYN, NY – The Brooklyn Nets today unveiled their 2026–27 Classic Edition uniform and a dedicated court, honoring the franchise’s six decades of history from its ABA origins to its evolution into Brooklyn. Both will debut at Barclays Center on Wednesday, Oct. 21, when the Nets host the Charlotte Hornets in their home opener, presented by Alibaba.
The Classic Edition uniform features a red, white and blue design found in the Nets’ ABA roots and the era when the franchise helped reshape professional basketball. As one of four franchises to join the NBA through the 1976 ABA-NBA merger, the Nets hold a unique place in basketball history. Using the colors and design of the team’s early uniforms, the Classic Edition uniform reimagines the franchise’s original identity for a new era, connecting the team’s ABA beginnings to its 60th season and the 50th anniversary of the ABA-NBA merger. Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, the jersey will be available for purchase online and in-store at Brooklyn Fanatics.
The Nets also unveiled a special-edition court that brings together designs, colors and branding from across the franchise’s six decades. The court features the Nets’ 60th season logo at center court, a Nets logo comprised of past team branding along the sideline and the names of more than 575 players who have worn a Nets jersey across the court apron, while the baseline recognizes the 50th anniversary of the ABA-NBA merger. Together, the uniform and court create a visual timeline of the Nets’ legacy – from the ABA era and the franchise’s early years to its evolution in Brooklyn.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brooklyn Nets fans back to Barclays Center as we begin our 60th season,” said Becky Kimbro, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment. “The Classic Edition uniform and special-edition court give fans a new way to experience the history of this franchise. This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate every era of Nets basketball and the people who have shaped the franchise. From our ABA roots to the generations of players who have worn a Nets jersey, these elements honor where we have been while continuing to write the next chapter of Nets basketball in Brooklyn.”
At the home opener, fans will experience an original show celebrating 60 years of the Nets through custom LED screens, performances by the Brooklynettes and Team Hype, and 360° player footage powered by Alibaba technology. Alibaba, an Official Technology and Cloud Partner of the Brooklyn Nets and the team’s Official Jersey Patch Partner for the 2026–27 season, will also introduce Real-Time 360º Replay at Barclays Center and an in-arena “Nets Figure Lab,” where fans can create personalized collectible cards using Alibaba technology.
Throughout the 60th season, the Nets will honor the franchise’s rich history, its impact on professional basketball and the communities that continue to shape its future in Brooklyn. The celebration will be anchored by Eras Nights, a six-game series bringing defining chapters of Nets history to life through era-inspired entertainment, alumni appearances, in-arena activations and giveaways. Throughout the season, Nets Unite games will spotlight the diverse cultures and communities that define Brooklyn today, while Nets Fest and other community initiatives will connect the celebration to fans across the borough. Additionally, the Nets will bring back The Block, a dedicated lower-bowl fan section at Barclays Center that unites the team’s most passionate supporters to lead chants, energize the crowd and create an electric home-court atmosphere. The return of The Block celebrates the role fans have played in shaping the franchise’s history while giving them an opportunity to help build its next chapter in Brooklyn.
The home opener will also mark the latest evolution of the Barclays Center game-day experience. As part of Barclays Center’s five-year, $150 million-plus enhancement plan, the venue continues its investment in modernizing the arena and elevating the guest experience with reimagined spaces throughout the building. The latest phase brings together a reimagined Main Atrium and box office, a 9,000 square foot event level club, a dedicated American Express® Card Member Entrance and Lounge and the first major upgrade to Barclays Center’s control room since the arena opened in 2012. Located at the arena’s primary entry point, the redesigned Main Atrium will feature WAVE, a newly commissioned site-responsive installation by Sarah Sze, enhancing the arrival experience for more than 70% of arena guests.
Barclays Center will continue to bring the diverse flavors and culture of Brooklyn directly into the game day experience, spotlighting neighborhood favorites, local businesses and a mix of cuisines throughout the arena. New for the Nets season are kosher burgers and other game day eats from Smash House and Mediterranean street food from Miznon, while BK Market, which showcases local and emerging culinary talent, will welcome Luke Dog Gourmet Grilled Cheeses, Wilt’s Berries and Wah Gwaan, a Caribbean and Latin fusion concept.
